The Samoyed is an ancient, medium-sized working dog from Siberia, easily recognized by its stunning white double coat and "smiling" expression. Originally bred by nomadic Samoyede people for herding reindeer and pulling sleds, they are now beloved as gentle, energetic, and highly social family companions.
They are famously friendly, playful, and loyal. Because they crave human company, they can become destructive if left alone for long periods. Exercise & Space: As high-energy dogs, they need at least two hours of daily exercise, such as long walks, hiking, or agility. They are best suited for active families with a secure yard. Their thick double coat sheds heavily year-round and requires near-daily brushing to prevent matting and manage the "snow" of loose fur in your home.
